Welcome to My World Through the Lens
A Moment with Coffee & Plants: A Visual Journey
Welcome to the photography section of my site! To the left, you’ll see a photo taken at Coffee Drunk in Long Beach during one of their vibrant 1st Fridays. This particular shot features an espresso float with specialty coffee ice cream, a delicious fusion of rich flavors and textures. In the background, you’ll notice the soft blur of a Rubber Tree (Ficus elastica), adding a natural touch to the scene.
In this section, I’ll be showcasing a curated collection of my photos, centered around the themes of coffee and plants. I hope these images capture a sense of warmth, calm, and the beauty in simple moments. Enjoy exploring!
Green & Brew: Coffee Drunk’s Signature Touch
This is Coffee Drunk’s limited edition “Walk of Shame” latte, with a signature Rubber Tree (Ficus elastica) in the background—a plant they feature at all their locations. On the right, a vibrant Pothos drapes its leaves over the counter, adding a soft, inviting touch to the scene.
Bold Brews & Vivid Hues: A Custom Coffee Moment
Here’s Rad’s Coffee horchata blend, customized with blue whipped cream and a sprinkle of Cap’n Crunch, brought home for a personalized touch. Fresh coffee beans sit in the foreground, adding a warm, earthy feel against the clean background. Just behind the drink is a Persian Shield (Strobilanthes dyeriana) from a local plant shop, its vivid purple leaves adding a bold contrast to the setup.
Cultural Roots & Cozy Brews: A Tribute in Purple and Green
This shot features Sweetgrass’ Ube Vietnamese Coffee, a drink that honors the owner’s Filipino heritage, with ube as a signature flavor. The rich purple hue blends beautifully with the coffee’s dark tones, making it as eye-catching as it is unique. In the background, a Monstera adds lush greenery, while soft pampas grass complements the scene with its feathery texture.
Artisan Brews & Local Touches: Espresso with a Twist
This photo captures Steelhead’s espresso with grapefruit tonic—a refreshing twist with a hint of citrus against the rich espresso. In the background, a Hosta plantaginea ‘Zebra Stripes’ brings in a touch of green, while a custom-painted vase by a Long Beach artist adds an artistic, local touch. The setup is warmed by soft candlelight, creating a relaxed, inviting mood that enhances the mix of textures and colors in the scene.
Buzz of Coffee…
Thank you for visiting! The final photo features a bee nestled on a Mystic Spires plant—a small but essential part of the garden’s ecosystem. This moment reminds me of how coffee energizes busy professionals and how plants nurture self-care. Just as the bee is drawn to vibrant blooms, I find inspiration in nature’s simple beauty, from the earthy allure of coffee to the lush serenity of green spaces.
Feel free to continue exploring the site and enjoy the curated scenes. If you have any questions, want to connect, or simply share a passion for coffee, plants, or photography, I’d love to hear from you.
